Weird birthday.

Here we go again.
Found another home, in the most perfect neighborhood, with awesome schools from K-12.
Its ugly, needs a ton of work, but has a huge back yard.
Lots of kids in the neighborhood. I can walk him to school in the morning.
Putting in the offer now. I hope we steal it!

Dinner:
Brian is out at a business dinner, so the kids got easy no-fuss dinner and I made that whole grain toast with avocado for myself.
Good lord- it was so very good.
Note: I added garlic, salt, pepper to the avocado before heaping it onto the toast.

I can not believe it.
Brian and I have a strict “You Must Blow It Immediately” rule for gambling winnings.

Conundrum
I bought a new pair of Jack Rogers for the summer and thought I would put my old jacks on eBay for super low- like $5.99 because they are super worn. I figured I would get like $20 and that would pay for some of the cost of my new ones.

Juliet turns 2... in 5 days!
I just placed the order for a bunch of little surprises that she is going to love! Most of them are art related, because the truth is- Juliet LOVES to color, draw, re-decorate (our artwork) and I want to encourage that.

A day at the Brevard Zoo
We went to the Brevard Zoo today, we have never been and since B and Colin were at a Detroit Tigers spring training game, it was the perfect opportunity.
Juliet has never been, but really LOVES animals- so I had high hopes for her first trip. It did not dissapoint.
Our first stop was the petting zoo area- filled with goats, alpacas, turtles and a kimodo dragon.

Trying something new with Colin
He is still having an attitude problem. It’s seriously- out of control.
When you call him out- he does this flippant eye thing- and I swear to baby Jesus that I want to rip his eyes out and throw them out the window.
I am only half kidding.
Anyway- I have eliminated all sugar
from his diet. No waffles with syrup, No yogurt, no fruit snacks, no favorite drink, etc.

Thursday Confession:
I judge people who wear Sketchers to work out in. I don’t know why. I just do.

When we had Colin, I didn’t stay home. After 3 months he went to an in-home daycare until he was about 1, and then after that he went to preschool.
I never really worried about if he was learning enough, if he was on track, etc. I knew that because he was in a good school, that they would take care of that. But I really feel like I was more unaware of what I wasn’t doing- the...
Mom Worries
As Colin gets older each year, things get more complicated.
Yesterdays incident threw me into a tailspin of questioning my mothering ability.
Am I doing something wrong, why is he not listening to adults? Why did he feel like he had to show this kid he wasn’t a wimp (the kid is no exaggeration 30 lbs bigger than him). Why is he so sensitive. Have I failed him, am I not sensitive enough...
So- I received a call today from the school guidance counselor.
Colin was in a fight at school, was uninjured but that I need to come in.
When I arrived, I saw the boy who Colin go into it with. He wouldn’t even look at me (he has been in all of Colin’s classes since they were 3).
